🇲🇽 Mexico vs South Korea 🇰🇷 — 9:00 PM ET, Estadio Akron, Guadalajara

The match of the day. Mexico +105, draw +230, South Korea +300. Mexico won their opener 2-0 over South Africa and have home advantage at altitude again. South Korea won 2-1 over Czechia thanks to Son Heung-min. This is the match that could effectively decide who tops Group A. Son is the X factor — he was brilliant in the opener and Mexico will need to contain him. Mexico at +105 represents genuine value for a home nation that has already proven they can score. This is a near coin-flip priced as an underdog at home — that's the bet of the day.

Best bet of the day: Mexico +105 at home vs South Korea. Altitude advantage, home crowd, and already proven in this tournament. Getting plus money on the host nation is rare value.

But here's the Spain warning again — DR Congo conceded only six goals in 10 CAF qualifying matches. They are organized, disciplined, and will not be easily broken down. Portugal to win is the play but Under 2.5 goals at -130 to -140 is smarter than the clean ML at -350. Best prop: Ronaldo anytime scorer at +190 — the moment and the occasion demand it.

Croatia are the 2018 runners-up and always dangerous — Modric, Kovačić, Gvardiol — but Croatia are also 38-year-old Modric's last dance and time is catching up. England should win but Croatia will make it tight. England to win and Under 2.5 goals at around -115 is the sharpest play on the board today. Kane first goal scorer is always worth a look at +300.

🇬🇭 Ghana vs Panama 🇵🇦 — 7:00 PM ET, BMO Field, Toronto

Ghana slight favorites, Panama the underdog. Both teams are disciplined defensively — Ghana conceded six goals in CAF qualifying, Panama just four in CONCACAF. This match has Under written all over it. Under 2.5 goals at around -140 is today's most confident bet in terms of game script. Panama are making only their second World Cup appearance and will defend deep. Ghana to win at around +115 to +125 is fine value if you want to pick a side.

🇺🇿 Uzbekistan vs Colombia 🇨🇴 — 10:00 PM ET, Estadio Azteca, Mexico City

Colombia -250, Uzbekistan +750, draw +350. Colombia have James Rodríguez, Luis Díaz, and Cuadrado — a talented, experienced side. Uzbekistan are in their first World Cup ever and will be completely overwhelmed by the occasion and the quality. Colombia to win is the play. Colombia to win and Over 2.5 goals at around -110 makes good sense — they like to score and Uzbekistan will eventually tire defensively.

Best bet of the day: England to win and Under 2.5 goals vs Croatia at -115. Both teams are defensively excellent and this has 1-0 written all over it.

Day 6 — France and Argentina Open Tonight, and Spain Already Dropped Points

Before we get to today — Spain drew their opener with Cape Verde. The tournament favorites dropped points on Day 5 and that means France are now the solo favorites to win the 2026 World Cup at +430. Keep that in mind as Les Bleus open tonight — there's pressure on them to perform and they have the squad to do exactly that.

🇫🇷 France vs Senegal 🇸🇳 — 3:00 PM ET, MetLife Stadium, New York/NJ

France are -209 to -220 favorites, Senegal +600, draw +350. France are now the outright World Cup favorites following Spain's draw and they have the squad to justify that — Mbappé, Griezmann, Camavinga, Tchouaméni. Senegal are no pushovers though. The most lopsided match of the day. Norway -500, Iraq +1500, draw +650. Erling Haaland opens his World Cup campaign tonight and the entire world will be watching. Iraq are ranked outside the top 80 and have no business sharing a pitch with Haaland in this form. Norway to win is a given — the value play is Haaland anytime scorer at around -120. He scored 36 goals in the Premier League last season. He will score tonight. Norway to win and Over 2.5 goals around -160 is also solid.

🇦🇷 Argentina vs Algeria 🇩🇿 — 9:00 PM ET, Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City

The match everyone is watching tonight. The reigning World Cup champions open their defense. Argentina -250 to -264, Algeria +700 to +850, draw +375. Messi. In a World Cup. In Kansas City. The stadium will be electric. Algeria are a solid African side but this is a massive step up in quality. Argentina's only concern is complacency — they've been known to struggle in openers. Austria -280 to -300, Jordan +700 to +800, draw +450. Austria are a well-organized, physically strong European side who qualified comfortably. Four matches today and the theme is heavy favorites. Every single match has a team priced at -160 or shorter. When that happens the value isn't in the moneyline — it's in the props, the goals markets, and the team that gets underestimated. Let's dig in.

Pedri, Yamal, Morata — they will not hold back. Yamal first goal scorer is an interesting prop around +350.

🇧🇪 Belgium vs Egypt 🇪🇬 — 3:00 PM ET, Lumen Field, Seattle

Belgium -160 to -163, draw +280 to +315, Egypt +475 to +510. Egypt are built around Mohamed Salah — now 33 and still dangerous but not the player he was at Russia 2018. Belgium have Kevin De Bruyne pulling strings and Romelu Lukaku leading the line. Belgium should handle this but Salah is always one moment of magic away from changing a match. Belgium to win and Under 3.5 goals at around -115 is the sharp play — both defenses are solid and this won't be a shootout.

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay 🇺🇾 — 6:00 PM ET, Hard Rock Stadium, Miami

This is the match of the day from a betting perspective. Uruguay -210 to -223, draw +333, Saudi Arabia +650. Uruguay have Darwin Nunez, Federico Valverde, and Rodrigo Bentancur. They are a genuine dark horse contender and -210 is actually not bad value for a team of their quality. Saudi Arabia shocked Argentina in 2022 but have regressed since. Uruguay to win is the most confident bet on today's board. If you want more juice — Uruguay to win and Over 2.5 goals around +105.

🇮🇷 Iran vs New Zealand 🇳🇿 — 9:00 PM ET, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles

Iran -105 to -120, draw +240, New Zealand +350 to +375. The most evenly priced match of the day. Iran are ranked 20th in the world, New Zealand 101st — a much bigger gap than the lines suggest. Iran should win this comfortably. Iran ML at -120 is fine value. New Zealand will defend deep and look for a set piece — Under 2.5 goals at -130 to -148 makes sense here.

Best bet of the day: Uruguay ML -210. Darwin Nunez is a nightmare to defend and Saudi Arabia don't have the quality to contain him.

Best prop: Lamine Yamal first goal scorer vs Cape Verde +350. He's Spain's most dangerous attacker and will be given license to shoot.

Day 4 — Germany Opens, Netherlands Face Japan, and the Best Value Match of the Week

Four more matches today and this is the most interesting day of the tournament so far from a betting perspective. Two genuinely competitive matchups sit alongside one walkover and one coin flip. Here's what I'm watching.

🇩🇪 Germany vs Curaçao 🇨🇼 — 1:00 PM ET, NRG Stadium, Houston

Germany open against Curaçao, ranked 89th in the world. Germany are -1600 to -2500 favorites depending on the book — so massive that there's no value on the win. Germany have been bounced in the group stage the last two World Cups though, so if you want to fade them, wait for a bigger match. Today the only question is margin. Germany to win and Over 3.5 goals is the play around -130. Expect a comfortable 4-0 or 5-0.

🇳🇱 Netherlands vs Japan 🇯🇵 — 4:00 PM ET, AT&T Stadium, Dallas

This is the match of the day. Netherlands +100, Japan +270, draw +260 at bet365. That's almost a coin flip between Netherlands and the draw. Japan have made it out of the group stage twice in a row and beat Germany and Spain in Qatar 2022. They are no pushover. Netherlands haven't been at their best recently but Virgil Van Dijk and Xavi Simons give them quality throughout. Japan +270 is enormous value if you believe in their ability to pull another giant-killing performance. This is the bet I'm most interested in today.

🇨🇮 Ivory Coast vs Ecuador 🇪🇨 — 7:00 PM ET, Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

Ecuador are slight favorites at -137 to -145, Ivory Coast +260, draw +180. Ecuador are ranked 30th in the world, Ivory Coast 37th — genuinely close in quality. Draw at +180 is excellent value here. Both teams are evenly matched, both have something to prove, and neither can afford to lose their opener. This is a classic draw setup. Backing Ivory Coast at +260 is also tempting — they have Wilfried Zaha and Sebastian Haller up front.

🇸🇪 Sweden vs Tunisia 🇹🇳 — 10:00 PM ET, Estadio BBVA, Monterrey

Sweden are modest favorites at -118, draw +250, Tunisia +320. Sweden's first World Cup since 2018 and Alexander Isak is their biggest threat. Tunisia are disciplined defensively but lack quality going forward. Sweden to win is fine at -118 but the draw at +250 is where the value sits if you think Tunisia set up to frustrate.

Best bet of the day: Japan +270 vs Netherlands. They've done it before against bigger names. That price is too generous.

Value runner-up: Ivory Coast vs Ecuador draw at +180.

Before we get to today — USA 4, Paraguay 1. Let that sink in. Four goals. The host nation announced themselves in emphatic fashion at SoFi last night. The pressure is off and Pochettino's side look genuinely dangerous. Remember that number when the knockout bracket comes around.

They have the defensive structure to frustrate anyone. Brazil haven't looked convincing in warmups. Morocco at +400 is genuinely tempting — this is not a 50-point gap in quality. Draw at +270 is the value play if you want to be conservative.

🇭🇹 Haiti vs Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 — 9:00 PM ET, Gillette Stadium, Boston

Scotland's first World Cup since 1998. Haiti are massive underdogs at +425 to +500. Scotland -175 to -188. The Tartan Army will be loud in Boston tonight. Scotland should handle this but World Cup openers are always nervy. Haiti draw no bet at +360 is intriguing value if you think Scotland struggle to break them down early.

🇦🇺 Australia vs Türkiye 🇹🇷 — 12:00 AM ET, BC Place, Vancouver

The late one. Türkiye are favorites at -135 to -145, Australia +400 to +420, draw +275 to +280. Türkiye are an underrated dark horse in this tournament — 8 wins in their last 10, drew with Spain in qualifying. Australia without Kerr are a different animal. Back Türkiye to win this one.

Best bet of the day: Brazil vs Morocco draw at +270. Morocco have the defensive quality to earn a point and this price is too generous given the evidence from 2022.

What makes this interesting: Paraguay's star player Julio Enciso is out injured. USA lost 5-2 to Belgium and 2-0 to Portugal in March warmups but bounced back with wins over Senegal and a respectable 2-1 loss to Germany. Host nations have won 16 of their last 23 opening World Cup matches.

The sharp angle: USA are barely favorites despite home advantage and Enciso being out. That +250 draw price is real value if you think Paraguay come to frustrate and park the bus for a point.

Best prop: Christian Pulisic anytime scorer +225. He's the captain, the moment will be right for him.
